Certificate of Life services

What is a Certificate of Life?

A Certificate of Life is used to prove that you are still alive for a variety of circumstances. It can also be known as a Proof of Life Certificate, Certificate of Existence, a Letter of Existence, or a Life Certificate.

Usually, it will be a form that you fill out with all of the relevant details to prove that you are alive and well.

It also allows you to state if you are becoming too ill to be able to handle your own affairs, if you have moved house, and other important details that may impact your finances.

When you need a Certificate of Life

Governments, insurance companies and pension funds use a Certificate of Life to prove that a person is still alive. This is done to act as proof that they can keep claiming their pension or benefits. They are more commonly used if someone moves out of the UK, but wants to continue claiming their pension.

Insurance companies may have their own version of a Certificate of Life that differs in style from Government bodies.

We have a blog on certificates of life that is available for anyone who wants more information on this important document.

Why you need a Notary Public

A Notary Public can notarise your Certificate of Life if you plan on using it abroad. We offer a range of Certificate of Life services.

Our Notary Public of England and Wales, Nathan Woodcock, has years of experience and can notarise your certificate for you. Due to our convenient mobile notary service, you can arrange your appointment at a time and place that suits you.

We can even help you with embassy legalisation, or with getting an apostille from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. We offer a standard service that takes 10 to 15 days, and a fast-track apostille service that takes 5 to 7 days.

For any country that does not accept apostilles, your documents will need to go through embassy legalisation. Our team can help you with this as well.
